چکیده
Abstract Post-operative venous sinus thrombosis (POVST) is an uncommon complication from a craniotomy for brain tumor resection. There are few data in how to treat POVST, including the use of anticoagulation and follow-up. It has been found that POVST more common dural-based lesions especially located on or near sinus, however treatment not standardized. We retrospectively reviewed our cases between January 2018 December 2020 resection, whether we chose start not, eventual outcome. also performed literature review topic compare findings management. identified 14 POVST; 8 were extra-axial masses. Of 14, 6 had clot involving superior sagittal (SSS), with 3 being discharged direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) one warfarin. With transverse involvement, noted (with no SSS clot), 2 started DOAC ASA 81mg. In sigmoid there did receive anticoagulation. total cases, 1 was symptomatic (new-onset seizures) necessitating surgical recanalization other symptoms attributed POVST. Two patients died unrelated reasons prior receiving any outpatient imaging, all their involved sinuses within 2-5 months. complications Our didn't show standardized method treatment. disagreement what should be used, if it necessary. Based retrospective analysis review, symptomatic, involves SSS, propagates, recommend Outside determined case-by-case basis, but may

Brain lesions in cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Analyze the relationship between the location and extent of sinus thrombosis and presence and severity of brain lesions. METHODS Retrospective chart and neuroimaging review of patients with documented CVST. A CVST score was devised to quantify the extent of cerebral venous sinus thrombosis. RESULTS Nineteen of 56 (34%) patients had brain lesions. The extent of sinus t...

BACKGROUND Chickenpox is one of the classic childhood diseases. Recently chicken pox has been reported in adults with more severe systemic and neurological complications. Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a life threatening disorder if not treated in time. We report a patient with post varicella CVT as a rare complication of primary Varicella zoster virus. CASE REPORT Vasculitic arterial in...

متن کاملRecanalization of the falcine sinus after venous sinus thrombosis.
Thrombosis of the straight and transverse sinuses associated with a large hemorrhagic venous infarct developed in an infant with large chronic subdural fluid collections after drainage of the subdurals. CT and MR studies obtained before and after the onset of venous sinus thrombosis showed interval widening of a segment of the posterior falx between the vein of Galen and the superior sagittal s...

infection-related cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (cvst) is a rare cerebral vascular diseases which has no pathognomonic sign or definite diagnostic approach. it is crucial to early suspect and recognize the disease to lower morbidity and mortality of it. however, its low incidence and atypic presentation often leads to misdiagnosis and treatment delay which increase complications and mortalit...
